Winter Workout Plateau
I don’t know if its just me, but when it is cold you cannot get me outside! I love Soul Cycle and Solidcore has now swooped in and taken my number one spot as favorite boutique fitness gym. I am at Solidcore at least twice a week. I have built relationships with the coaches at the location that I go to, and that’s what gets me coming back as frequently as I do same with Soul Cycle.
Nonetheless, I have a constant battle with myself when fall/winter gets here to leave my house for anything. I have a running joke with my friends but, everyone knows I hibernate in the winter. I leave my house when I absolutely have to! Like now as I type I am mentally preparing myself to leave my house tomorrow and run errands as well as go to you guessed it Solidcore.
The big reason why I am leery of continuing my weekly regimen when its cold outside is mainly because of the sweat factor. I take a ton of vitamins and supplements each day, however I still get sick more than your average person. Not sure if this has anything to do with my constant travel schedule and being on airplanes, but I am always sick. Where was I going with this… Oh yes, after a workout I am usually drenched in sweat, I put my clothes and shoes back on and then I am out in the elements, and I don't like the feeling.
What I will say is Solidcore is a low intensity workout and while I do sweat its nothing like walking out of a Soul Cycle class.
The rest of 2019 is going to be spent pushing myself out of my normal routine/comfort zone. What I mean by this is even though it snowed today, I am going to the gym tomorrow. I am going to continue my twice a week routine that I have had for the past 6 months. I am going to do things that I normally wouldn't do due to the weather. Now this will be hard not going to lie, being 29 I am set in my ways. But this is something that I love doing, and I am not going to let the cold weather stop me from crushing these weight loss goals.
You know what they say. Summer bodies are made in the winter! Well I am going to test this theory head first this winter. I am going to envision being lean on the beaches of Greece in April 2020. This is my motivation for me to keep going.
Guys we got this! What are some of the things that are keeping you on track and focused on weight loss/fitness goals?
